Not embracing 2 litres of water a day? We can help!

The problem with consuming the right amount of fluids throughout the day affects a great many people. A common misconception and myth is that a minimum of two litres of water should be consumed per day. Build a daily routine

Achieving big goals is helped by small, regularly repeated daily actions, which we commonly refer to as habits or routines. If you take a moment to think about it, you will surely find these repetitive activities throughout your day, and they can be completely trivial like getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, eating your meals, etc. As you can see, you have managed to introduce them and you probably rarely forget about any of them. Things get more complicated when you have to introduce new ones. But it doesn’t have to be that difficult! To make it easier to make changes in your life, you should start combining a new activity, in this case drinking water, with activities that already come naturally to you and that you don’t even have to think about. For example, as soon as you get out of bed, prepare yourself a glass of warm water with lemon, and an herbal infusion for breakfast. When preparing your first coffee, pour yourself another glass of water right away and drink it before you drink your coffee, and again in the evening prepare yourself a tea for dinner.

Whether you work remotely from home or go out to work, keep a 1.5 l water bottle with you. It may not seem like a very eco-friendly idea at first glance, but you can use a reusable water bottle for several days in a row and then replace it with a new one. If you drink a glass of water in the morning immediately after waking up, and tea for breakfast and dinner, you will have already reached your daily target. To make things even easier for yourself, draw lines on the bottle with a marker so that they divide the bottle into portions. Next to each line, write the time you want to reach your goal and the date by which you want to drink that portion of water.

Add supplements to your water

The saying “What’s my horse?!” in the context of drinking pure water is well known to all. For many people, the least attractive thing about drinking water is that it has no taste. Unfortunately, you cannot put an equal sign between drinking water and sweetened beverages. As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, you can include a glass of juice in the amount of liquid you drink, but you can’t 100% replace water with juice. Why? Juices, even the extra unsweetened ones, contain sugars which in excess can harm your teeth (decay). Moreover, they provide the body with extra kcal, which is often forgotten. In addition, juices consumed in excessive amounts will result in the supply of large amounts of simple sugars, causing blood glucose spikes. To add flavour to your water and make it more attractive to drink, add lemon, mint and fresh fruit such as raspberries to your water. Fresh fruit will gently change the taste of the water, but the content of simple sugars in the water will be negligible.

It is more handy, economical, because you can pour water from any tap, and ecological, because it is made of glass or more durable plastic, which you do not have to throw away after one or several uses. Additionally, if you simply like the bottle visually, there is a greater chance that you will actually use it.
