How to make Cod fish balls in tomato sauce

  1. 1. Wash the cod fillets then dry with a paper towel. Remove the skin from the fillets.

  2. 2. Slice the skinless, boneless fish into small pieces, then finely chop with a knife.

  3. 3. Crack the egg into the chopped fish, add the finely chopped chives, salt and pepper, semolina and potato starch, then squeeze in the juice from the lemon. Mix the mass together thoroughly.

  4. 4. Pour the wheat flour into a small bowl. Use a tablespoon to form portions the size of a walnut. Place the fish pulp in a bowl, then roll it in the flour. Use your hands to form a ball and set it aside on a chopping board.

  5. 5. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the chopped onion. Once the onion is fried, arrange the fish balls in the pan and fry them for approx. 4 minutes, turning them over from time to time.

  6. 6. Pour the broth and tinned tomatoes into the fish balls and cook on a low heat for around 10 min. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7. Serve garnished with parsley.
