  • Brussels sprouts70× piece (1190 g)
  • Bacon rashers back6× slice (600 g)
  • Butter10× teaspoon (50 g)

How to make Brussels Sprouts

  1. 1. Boil some salted water in a pan, then add the sprouts. Boil for 5 minutes. Drain then rinse with cold water.

  2. 2. Heat up a large pan, add 6 slices of bacon, cut into mouthful-sized pieces and gently fry for 10 minutes until crisp and golden.

  3. 3. Remove from the pan, leaving the fat behind. Put the sprouts in the pan with a little water, then cover and boil on medium heat for around 5 minutes, stirring from time to time, until soft.

  4. 4. Uncover, turn the heat up and then add most of the 50 g of butter and fry the sprouts for another 2 minutes.

  5. 5. Add the bacon and generous amounts of salt and pepper.

    Great recipe and easy. To save time and washing up I cut rashers and put them onto the sprouts for steaming, adding a bit of butter in case thr water runs out. Add a sprinkle of nutmeg.
